Spring 2012 Registrations for the Dighton Rehoboth Strikers

 

The DRSC Strikers is a successful, enjoyable, competitive youth travel soccer program operated under the rules of the South Coast Soccer League and Mass Youth Soccer Association. The Strikers has served as the feeder program for Dighton-Rehoboth High School’s strong soccer program for many years.   DRSC provides a strong competitive program for those players looking to elevate their game above our Town’s Recreational Programs.  All Striker Head Coaches are State or Nationally Licensed and are committed in placing a strong emphasis on coaching the game of soccer from an individual and team learning perspective with players who want to improve their knowledge of soccer.

 

Soccer players residing in the towns of Dighton & Rehoboth are encouraged to register for the Traveling Teams in age categories ranging from 8 to 18 years old for both boys and girls.  The Teams play an 8 game season (4 home and 4 away) in Southeastern Massachusetts, the Cape and the Islands from the first week in April thru the first week in June. Teams will be formed in the appropriate age groups provided there are a sufficient number of players and a coach to make up a team. Some age groups may need to be combined and some age groups may have two teams. Tryouts will be held to determine the rosters for the teams based upon the player’s ability to play the game.

 

Registration fee for 2012 will be $85 each for the first two players in a family then $40 for players 3, 4 and 5 in a family. Registration Forms and Fees if selected to a team are due within 14 days. Any registration forms received after this date will be charged a late fee of $25.00. No registrations forms will be accepted without payment of the registration fee. The fee covers the cost for the 2011 Spring South Coast Soccer League Season, outdoor practices and insurance. Participation of DRSC Teams in winter leagues and tournaments require additional fees, which depend on the coach and team’s interests. Uniform costs (approximately $55, typically good for 2 seasons) for DRSC Players are additional to the registration fee and are collected during the late fall/early winter months.

 

The Strikers are looking for adults who are interested in joining to help as head or assistant coaches for the younger age groups.  A Coaching license is mandatory for all head coaches and the club will reimburse all costs associated with coaching licenses, so don’t let the fact that you haven’t coached soccer before stop you from volunteering to coach your son or daughter’s team.
