Thanks to everyone for a great u6-7 season. Thank you to all who helped out with the party on Friday. All the players worked hard in their games and played very well. We was very impressed by the u7's skills.

We want to thank Sarah Vitale for helping us with the registration and party. There were other too that helped along the way, especially once we realized the shirts were too big. Thanks for all your help.

Our coaches were great. Caitlin Marshall volunteered her time to coach the u6 girls and I had help from Joe Renquinha with the u6 boys. Steve and Mike Morgado coached the u7 boys and girls with help from Derek Anderson and Brian Crowley. It was truly a team of volunteers this season with few that had any children in the u6-7 program. They all deserve much thanks for helping the club grow.

In the fall the players should sign up for recreational leagues in the town you live. There are links for Rehoboth Youth and Dighton Youth Soccer on the Dighton-Rehoboth Soccer Club's website http://www.drstrikers.org/. If you need any help let us know.

We will offer a u7 program for spring 2012 for the u6's that played this season.  The only qualification for a coach is a willingness to put the effort into learning the game and learning practice techniques. The Strikers have a good support system for all the new coaches and pay for all training and licenses for the coaches. Please volunteer.

 DRSC Developmental Program

The DRSC club will include both the u6 and u7 age group in developmental program that  trained once a week. The prime learning years for soccer are said to be U7 to U12. Teaching and polishing basic skills are the emphasis of  this program. This 2011 season we will continue to focus on the u7 players and also invite any u6 player interested in attending the program. Any U8 player not on a current team will also be welcome at the developmental program.

 The training  will take place in 2011 at Bliss Fields in Rehoboth MA on Friday evenings from 5:00 to 6:00 from April through May. The program has been very successful and will allowed a smooth start to the signup in the fall  placement of teams for the Spring 2012 season

 The curriculum for U6-7 is basic skills and fun. We plan to scrimmage at the end of every session. The program is less formal than U8 and older competitive teams. If there is interest, the u7s may play in tournaments (pay as you go), scrimmages against other clubs and towns, or an indoor tournament. Again, everything outside the regularly scheduled training is optional. Typically we will email the group and to get replies from those who want to participate in a particular tournament or indoor league etc.

 The cost for the 2011-u7 Academy  will be $40.  (Additional insurance was needed for this season).  The DRSC uniform 'kit' (Cotton short-sleeve jersey) will be included in the player fee. You can obtain a registration form online. Please email me or call me to get more information. Emails will be sent to the group regarding tournaments, leagues, friendly games and practices. Be sure to include your tee shirt size and email address on the registration form.

 We communicate almost totally by email. Please be certain to include a current email address in your registration.  Whatever age your son/daughter is on August 1st is their soccer age for the year until the next August 1st.

 If your child has an interest in the game of soccer player then you should consider attending the program. It isn't a complicated game and we are trying to train your young player with solid fundamental skill, teach them basic soccer techniques, inspire them to become better and make training fun for them. Most of all they will have fun and find an appreciation for the ‘Beautiful game’.

 We are looking for parents to participate in the practices with the possibility of becoming a coaches or managers in the future. Our club fees are low because we have all volunteer coaches. Please volunteer to help out at the practice. Note that all volunteers must complete a Cori form
